Report

Denny Notre Dame shocked everyone by winning the 31st Roy Curtis International Tournament. Anthony Jenkins was the star as they defeated top Dutch side Finish Profiles Amsterdam, not once, but twice to claim the prestigious International Tournament. [1-4]

Amsterdam had come into the Tournament as favourites having already beaten the 1995 winners, Den Bosch back in the Netherlands. [5]

About

The Pat Clarke Tournament is a Women’s National League Pre-Season Tournament featuring Women’s Super League, Division 1 and top regional sides hosted annually by Meteors Basketball Club in Dublin. [3]

It was first held in 2008, and is named in honour of Pat Clarke, who passed away in 2006. The Meteors Division 1 team at the time was made up of girls who had nearly all been coached by her back in St. Mary’s Youth Club in 1987. [3]

Report

Hosts Meteors won the Tournament for the second year in a row in 2012 [3], defeating Southside rivals Oblate Dynamos 51-48 in the Final, to finish the tournament undefeated [2].
