Report

Dublin Celtic, who had been beaten finalists in 1959, won the All-Ireland Basketball Blitz for the first time in October 1960, when beating Army School of Music 15-10 in the Final. M. Morrison top-scored on 8 points for the Army School of Music, but it wasn’t enough as the combination of P. O’Hara (7 pts), N. Nugent (5) and D. Rochford (3) saw of the challenge of ASM to give the title to Celtic.

About

The Amateur Basketball Association of Ireland (now Basketball Ireland) was the organisation in charge of running Basketball in Ireland from 1947 to 1979 when it changed its name to the Irish Basketball Association.

From 1953 to 1973 it was organised on a Club and County basis like the Gaelic Athletic association, and the All-Ireland Minor Championship was the Underage County Championship.

The All-Ireland Blitz was Club Championship, held over the course of a weekend.
